130kg. That's where I started. The gym wasn't a choice — it was survival. But then a friend believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. That's when consistency became my weapon. Boxing changed me. Not just my body — my mind. 50kg dropped. But the sacrifice was real: missing nights out, pushing through pain most people quit at, learning that discipline tastes better than comfort. The support I got? That made all the difference. That's why I'm here to give it back.
Got injured badly. Lost what I loved most. The physical pain? Manageable. The mental hit? Devastating. Boxing wasn't just my sport — it was my identity. I clawed my way back. Thought I had it beat. Then injury number two happened. Recovery took longer. The weight came back. Now I'm standing there with a mind that knows everything but a body that's a beginner again. The mental struggle? That's what nobody talks about.
I've been the beginner paralyzed by shame. I've been the athlete pushing for gold. I've been the comeback story that got knocked down twice. Whether you're starting your first gym session or rebuilding after injury — I don't just give you a program. I coach you. Your struggles. Your comeback. Your goals. Because I've lived enough of them to know what actually works.
Manawa Fitness is operated by a Personal Trainer, not an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP). My scope of practice is helping apparently healthy individuals improve fitness, strength, and general health.
I do not provide clinical exercise prescription for diagnosed medical conditions, acute or ongoing injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation, chronic pain management, or mental health conditions requiring therapeutic exercise.
All clients complete the Adult Pre-Exercise Screening System (APSS) before starting. If any flags arise, I'll refer you to the appropriate health professional before we begin.
